Description
Description
This TCP LED GU10 glass bulb puts out a bright 345 lumens in a crisp 6500K daylight white, and unlike most budget GU10s, it's fully dimmable. Running at around 4.4W (roughly a 50W halogen equivalent), it's built for kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces where you want strong, clear light with the flexibility to dim it down when you don't need full brightness. This listing is for a pack of 2 bulbs.
Key features
- 345 lumens per bulb
- Approx. 4.4W LED (roughly a 50W halogen equivalent)
- 6500K daylight white light
- 36° beam angle, standard GU10 spot
- Dimmable (with a compatible LED dimmer switch)
- Rated for around 25,000 hours of use, pack of 2
What this bulb is best for
The 6500K daylight tone is ideal for kitchens, home offices and bathrooms (fitting permitting - see FAQs below) where clear, bright light helps with cooking, reading or getting ready. Being dimmable means you can also turn it down in the evening, so one bulb can do the job of a bright work light and a softer background light.
How to fit it
- Turn off the power at the switch before you start.
- If you're replacing an old bulb, let it cool down fully first.
- Twist the old bulb anticlockwise a quarter turn and pull it free.
- Push the new TCP GU10 bulb in and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.
- Restore power at the switch.
GU10 bulbs run directly on mains voltage, so there's no transformer or separate driver to fit - it's a like-for-like swap in your existing fitting.
Frequently asked questions
Will this bulb work with my existing dimmer switch?
It's designed to be dimmable, but results depend on your dimmer switch too - an older leading-edge dimmer built for halogen bulbs can cause flickering or buzzing with LEDs. For the smoothest dimming, use an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer.
Is 6500K too harsh for a kitchen?
No - 6500K daylight is one of the most popular choices for kitchens precisely because it's bright and clear, closer to natural daylight than a warm white bulb, which makes food prep and cleaning easier.
Can I mix this with non-dimmable bulbs on the same circuit?
It's best to keep dimmable and non-dimmable LEDs separate on the same switch, since mixing types on one dimmer can cause uneven dimming or flicker.
Is a pack of 2 enough for my bathroom?
A 2-pack suits a fitting with one or two spotlights; for a larger bathroom ceiling with several downlights, you may want to order more than one pack.
