Description
This JCB LED GU10 bulb gives a soft 3000K warm white light at 350 lumens (345 lumen measured, 4.9W actual draw) from a compact 5W-class LED. It uses the same twist-and-lock GU10 base as the halogen spotlight it replaces, so it drops straight into an existing GU10 downlight or spotlight fitting with no rewiring and no transformer required.

What this bulb is best for

How to fit it
Switch off the power at the wall or light switch before changing any bulb. If the old bulb has just been in use, let it cool for a minute or two before touching it. Twist the old GU10 bulb anticlockwise until the two pins release from the ceramic base, then pull it straight out. Line up the pins of the new JCB bulb with the two slots in the fitting, push in gently and twist clockwise until it locks into place. Restore power and test the light. No transformer or driver is needed — GU10 LED bulbs run directly from the UK mains supply.
Frequently asked questions
Can this JCB GU10 bulb be used with a dimmer switch?
No. This bulb is non-dimmable and should only be fitted to a standard on/off GU10 circuit. Fitting a non-dimmable LED to a dimmer switch can cause flickering, buzzing or early failure.
What halogen bulb does this replace?
It's sold as a 50W halogen GU10 replacement, giving comparable brightness from a fraction of the power draw.
Why is the energy rating shown as G rather than A?
The UK/EU energy label was rescaled in 2021 to make room for future efficiency gains, so ratings for many everyday LED GU10 bulbs now sit lower on the new A-G scale than they did under the old system. A G rating here reflects this budget bulb's position on the newer, stricter scale — it is still far more efficient than a halogen GU10.
Does this bulb need a transformer?
No. GU10 LED bulbs, including this one, run directly from 220-240V mains with no transformer or separate driver required.
