Vitax Growmore 2.5kg

Vitax Growmore 2.5kg is a mid size pack of the classic general purpose fertiliser, enough to feed a typical garden through a season of planting.

Growmore contains the three major plant nutrients, nitrogen, phosphate and potash, for strong growth, heavy crops of fruit and vegetables and plenty of flowers.

What to use it on

• Fruit and vegetables, including potatoes
• Flowers, borders and bedding
• Shrubs, trees and bushes
• New lawns, before laying turf or sowing seed

How far does Vitax Growmore 2.5kg go?

At 140g per m², the 2.5kg pack covers around 18m² of beds. Potatoes take 200g per m², so plan for more on the veg plot.

Application rates

• Flowers and vegetables: 140g per m² before sowing or planting, then 70g per m² as a top dressing for established plants.
• Potatoes: 200g per m² before planting.
• Shrubs, fruit trees and bushes: 140g per m² over the branch spread as a spring top dressing.
• Trees and shrubs at planting: 70g to 140g mixed into the backfill, depending on plant size.
• New lawns: 140g per m², forked into the top 8cm of soil before turfing or seeding.

How to apply it

Spread evenly, then hoe or fork into the soil surface and water in if the ground is dry. A handful is about 35g. Apply from February to October and repeat every 8 to 10 weeks.

Growmore or Blood Fish and Bone?

Growmore is a granular feed that is not slow release, so the nutrients are available to plants quickly. If you prefer an organic based feed that releases more slowly, choose Blood Fish and Bone 2.5kg instead.

Wear gloves when spreading, as it may irritate cut or broken skin, and do not go over the recommended rates. Store Vitax Growmore 2.5kg somewhere dry, away from children, pets and food. It is part of our Vitax range.
