Description
Description
UHU All Purpose Adhesive is the classic clear, fast-bonding glue that's known to millions simply as uhu glue. This 20ml blister pack tube is solvent-based, dries crystal clear, and stays temporarily adjustable for a few seconds after application so you can line up your join before it sets.
What UHU All Purpose Adhesive bonds
- Wood and wood-based materials
- ABS, hard and soft PVC, acrylic (Plexiglas) and polystyrene
- Metal, glass, porcelain and ceramic
- Leather, rubber, felt and cork
- Fabric, cardboard and paper - without wrinkling
It is not suitable for Styrofoam, polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) - for expanded foam, a dedicated foam-safe glue is the better choice.
How to Use
- Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust or grease. Lightly roughening plastic or metal helps the bond.
- Apply a thin, even layer of UHU All Purpose Adhesive to one or both surfaces.
- Press the parts together. Initial tack develops in around 60-120 seconds, with full bond strength reached after 24 hours.
- For non-absorbent materials like ceramic or coated paper, apply to both sides, let it dry, apply a second coat, then press together.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does UHU glue take to dry?
It becomes touch-dry within 60-120 seconds, but full bond strength takes 24 hours, so leave repairs undisturbed overnight where possible.
Is UHU glue waterproof?
The dried glue is water and moisture-resistant rather than fully waterproof - fine for everyday use, but not rated for permanent submersion. For projects that need full waterproofing, UHU Max Repair or UHU Epoxy are the better choice.
Does UHU glue work on plastic?
Yes, on most rigid plastics including ABS, PVC, acrylic and polystyrene. It will not bond polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) or expanded polystyrene foam (Styrofoam).
How do you remove UHU glue from skin or clothes?
Wipe away wet glue straight away. Once dried, residue and stains can usually be removed from skin or fabric with acetone - always test on a small area first.
Is UHU glue flammable?
Yes - it contains flammable solvents, so keep it away from naked flames and heat sources, and use it somewhere with reasonable ventilation.
