This Securit brown plastic louvre vent is a 9 x 3 inch ventilation cover sized to fit a standard single brick course opening. Like all louvre vents, it uses angled slats, set between 30 and 45 degrees, to let air pass through in both directions while shedding wind driven rain and keeping out larger debris. It is commonly used for airbricks, subfloor ventilation, sheds and utility spaces around the home.

How to Use and How to Fit

If you are replacing an existing vent that is already set into an airbrick or terracotta frame, simply unscrew or unclip the old cover and fit this vent in its place using the same fixing holes, so no extra drilling is normally needed.

If you are creating a brand new opening in a solid wall, chisel or drill away the mortar to the correct size for the vent, bed the vent onto fresh mortar and tap it flush with the surrounding brickwork, then point the joint around the edge once set to match the existing wall finish.
