Every day from 1 to 24 December brings a new Yankee Candle scent. Inside are 24 scented tea light candles, each a different fragrance, and a glass tea light holder to burn them in.

This is the first Yankee Candle calendar in recent years with no repeated scents. It mixes Christmas fragrances with year-round favourites, so the countdown changes from sweet bakery mornings to pine forests to clean cotton.

Christmas bakery and spice

• Christmas Cookie: buttery sugar cookies with vanilla.
• Christmas Eve: sugared plums, candied fruit and a warm hearth. This is a rich, spiced fruit scent rather than a pine one.
• Sparkling Cinnamon: stick cinnamon with a touch of clove.
• Sugared Cinnamon Apple: baked cinnamon apple with whipped vanilla frosting.
• Spiced Pumpkin: pumpkin with clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar.
