FAQs
What is the difference between a rubble sack and a builders bag or dumpy bag?
A rubble sack like this one is a smaller, reusable bag holding up to 77 litres, easy for one person to fill, lift and carry. A builders bag or dumpy bag is the large woven 1 tonne format used by building merchants, usually filled and removed by machine. For most DIY and garden jobs, a rubble sack like this is the easier, more practical choice.
Can mouldy rubble sacks be cleaned?
Yes, these woven sacks can be brushed down, hosed off and left to dry fully in the sun before reuse if they develop surface mould from damp storage. Retire any sack that is badly affected, torn or has a damaged seam.
How many times can I reuse a woven rubble sack?
These are made from tough polypropylene fabric designed for repeated use across multiple jobs, provided the sack is not torn, punctured or overloaded. Inspect for wear before each use.
Are rubble sacks waterproof?
Woven polypropylene sacks are not fully waterproof, though they cope well with everyday outdoor use. Avoid long term wet storage of filled sacks to protect the fabric.
