Description
Description
Syntox is Purdy's synthetic filament brush range, built from a nylon and Chinex blend engineered to lay down an ultra smooth finish. It is designed for use with stains and clear finishes, and performs well with both water based and solvent based clears, making it a good choice for woodwork where a flawless finish matters.
This Syntox brush is angled, 2 inches wide and 50mm across the tip, giving a shaped edge that is easy to guide along mouldings, sash windows, door frames and other trim where a straight brush cannot follow the line as cleanly. The soft, tapered filaments help reduce brush marks, which is especially important when working with clear or lightly tinted finishes that show every stroke.
How to Use
- Dip the brush about a third of the way into the stain or clear finish, then tap off the excess.
- Use the angled tip to follow the line of mouldings, sash bars and trim edges.
- Apply with the grain on wood surfaces, using long, even strokes to avoid overlap marks.
- Work in manageable sections and keep a wet edge to prevent visible lap lines on clear finishes.
- Clean immediately after use with water for water based products or the correct solvent for oil based products, then reshape the tip to dry.

FAQs
What finishes is the Syntox brush designed for?
It is designed for stains and clear finishes, and works with both water based and solvent based clears.
Why choose an angled brush for trim and mouldings?
The angled tip is easier to guide along straight edges such as sash windows, door frames and mouldings, giving a cleaner line than a flat brush.
Will this brush leave visible brush marks on a clear finish?
The soft, tapered nylon Chinex filaments are designed to lay down a smooth coat and minimise brush marks when used with even, overlapping strokes.
