This is the Purdy Monarch Elite paint brush set containing three brushes, one 1.5 inch, one 2 inch and one 3 inch, ideal for covering larger walls and ceilings efficiently while still giving you a smaller brush for edges and detail work. Purdy has handcrafted paint brushes in the USA since 1925 and is now part of Sherwin-Williams, and Monarch Elite is one of its flagship professional ranges.
Each brush in the set uses tapered, flagged synthetic filaments from a Chinex and Orel blend. The tapered tips release paint smoothly and evenly while the flagged edges help the bristles hold more paint, so you cover more wall with fewer reloads. The set works well with water based and oil based paints and is particularly suited to thicker coatings such as emulsion.
How to Use
Start larger areas with the 3 inch brush, then move to the 2 inch brush for smaller sections and the 1.5 inch brush for edges, trim and cutting in. Dip about a third of the bristle length into the paint, tap off the excess, and apply with light, even strokes. Clean all three brushes promptly after use, reshape the bristles and allow them to dry flat or hanging so they stay ready for the next job.
