Description
This set brings together five Purdy brushes from two ranges in one pack, giving you the right brush for every stage of a paint job. It includes three Monarch Elite brushes, one 1.5 inch, one 2 inch and one 3 inch, plus two Pro Extra Monarch brushes, one 1.5 inch and one 2 inch. Purdy has handcrafted paint brushes in the USA since 1925 and is now part of Sherwin-Williams.
The Monarch Elite brushes use tapered, flagged synthetic filaments from a Chinex and Orel blend, releasing paint smoothly and working especially well with emulsion and other water based paints. The Pro Extra Monarch brushes use a Chinex, Tynex and Orel filament blend with longer, thicker filaments that are recommended for oil based paints and higher viscosity coatings, and are built to apply significantly more paint per stroke than a standard brush.
How to Use
Reach for the Monarch Elite brushes for emulsion and general water based painting, using the 3 inch and 2 inch sizes for walls and ceilings and the 1.5 inch for cutting in. Switch to the Pro Extra Monarch brushes for oil based paints on woodwork, doors and trim, where the thicker filaments carry more paint per load. Dip about a third of the bristle length into the paint, tap off the excess, and clean each brush promptly after use with water or the appropriate solvent depending on the paint type.
