Monarch Elite is one of Purdy's flagship professional ranges, built with tapered, flagged synthetic filaments made from a Chinex and Orel blend. The tapered tips mean the brush releases paint smoothly and evenly, while the flagged edges help hold more paint in the bristles so you spend less time reloading and more time painting. It is suited to both water based and oil based paints and performs especially well with thicker coatings such as emulsion.
How to Use
Dip roughly a third of the bristle length into your paint and tap off any excess rather than wiping it on the rim of the tin. Apply with light, even strokes, letting the tapered filaments lay the paint off smoothly. For cutting in against edges and trim, use the chiseled tip and steady, controlled strokes. Clean the brush promptly after use with water for water based paints or the appropriate solvent for oil based paints, then reshape the bristles and allow the brush to dry flat or hanging.
